Silver Springs Shores is one of the most populated unincorporated communities in Florida, home to roughly 30,000 residents living almost entirely in single-family CBS homes on modest lots. The community was developed as an affordable suburban option in the 1970s and 1980s, and that character has stayed consistent. Most streets are quiet and residential, laid out in a grid off SE 36th Avenue, which serves as the main commercial spine with grocery stores, restaurants, and local businesses. The neighborhood sits about five to seven miles southeast of downtown Ocala along State Road 35, close enough to reach Ocala easily but with its own distinct identity. Homeownership rates here are high, and many residents have lived in the same house for years or decades. The community is named for the nearby Silver Springs State Park, one of Florida's most recognized natural attractions.
The building stock here is remarkably uniform: almost all homes are single-story concrete block with stucco exteriors, built to Florida's mid-to-late 20th century residential standard. At 30 to 50 years old, those homes are at the age when stucco cracks, mortar joints need repointing, and block walls that have never been sealed start showing moisture damage. For homeowners in this part of Marion County, keeping that exterior in good shape is the most important maintenance decision they make. Residents in neighboring Ocala and in Silver Springs to the east deal with the same CBS housing stock and the same climate, and we serve all of those communities regularly.
